Welcome to Calliope! This is an intermediate level course that covers a wide variety of chemistry and biochemistry topics that are needed for high school and college learning, as well as to advance in the Biochemistry Literacy program. Students begin by learning the theory behind the covalent bonding rules that they learned in the first unit. They then advance to lessons that give them an understanding of how molecules behave, and we learn about amino acids and peptides, setting the stage for our understanding of biopolymers like proteins.
