Biochemistry Literacy for Kids

Purchase lessons and kits

Start learning with these amazing courses.

Biochem 2.0 is here! This is the next generation of Biochemistry Literacy. I recommend all new students start with Panorama, which is the first unit of this new course. One reason this course is so effective is because students build the molecules using my Custom Kit, available on the Purchase Page. I have new Zoom class options for the Fall, which are optional, but a great way to enhance student learning.

Panorama (unit 1) contains 10 lessons that build foundational knowledge, but also stands on its own as an introductory chemistry and biochemistry course. It introduces topics ranging from bonding and protein function, to chemical reactions and plastic polymerization. This is the new beginning for Biochemistry Literacy students.

Canopy (unit 3) contains 6 lessons that cover the mole concept, nuclear chemistry and radioactivity, as well as the fusion reactions of stars. This unit reveals the origins of the elements of the universe; you will not find this content anywhere else, and kids absolutely love it.

Calliope (unit 2) is still in production, but will be completed later this year. It will cover covalent and ionic bonding, amino acids, peptides, and many other intermediate topics.

The Classic Course: After completing Panorama, and optionally Canopy, students should proceed to the Classic 24 Lesson Course. The Classic Course contains core biochemistry topics like proteins, membranes, carbohydrates, and DNA. It constitutes what many would consider a semester’s worth of high school biology content.
